purple

So I realized today that some of the people reading this blog are probably people intersted in the Disney College Program...either people who are waiting for their purple emails/folders, people who have alread been accepted, or people who are trying to decide if they want to apply. Since I only have like 1 post about the DCP so far, I feel like its time for another :D

On September 9th I recieved my purple email!! (exactly 3 weeks after my interview) I was accepted for FSF&B which wasn't my first choice but isn't a bad role :) I can't believe that this is all coming together -- it feels like a dream!

Then, 2 weeks after the email, I got my purple folder! I ended up going to Disneyland later that weekend so I brought my folder along with me...

arts & crafts

If you know me at all, you know that I love doing arts & crafts. Every year at Fortune Lake (best camp in the world!!!), Addie and I would spend every second that we could in ANC. Last summer, when we were visiting, Beki showed us how to make these super cool magnents! In our day or 2 at FLLC we made a million of them. Then when I went to visit Addie in Hawaii last November we bought a ton of the little glass marble things that you use to make the magnents. We never got around to making them on that trip and I have had these things sitting in my craft box since then! BUT Addie was back in California for a couple weeks before going back to Hawaii so we had a crafting day! Me, Addie, Lily and Katie made a bunch of magnets and tie dyed some shirts! (btw...Lily made 100 magnets the first night!!! thats a big "bunch") hahaha

Here are some pictures...

happiest place on earth

Last Sunday, my mom and I headed to our happy place (if you need to ask where that is, you obviously don't know us)

Since I had just been accepted into the Disney College Program a few days before, we made sure to say hi to my new boss...MICKEY MOUSE!!

Like always, we had a great time!! The weather was awesome and there were hardly any lines. We started off the morning at the Tiki Room. For some reason, we never really do this attraction at Disneyland but always do at WDW. I have to say, the one at Disneyland is WAY better...it is still in its original state and not under "new management" so it was fun :)

We also went on Indiana Jones, Pirates, Big Thunder Mountain and to the petting zoo before heading over to get a Dole Whip!

After Disneyland, we went to DTD and had a late lunch/early dinner.

Then we headed to California Adventures! The Pixar Parade was just starting when we got there so we sat down to watch it. This parade is SO CUTE :) After that we headed over to Tower of Terror...the wait for this ride said 25 minutes but after about 20 we were still down in the lobby and then the Cast Member announced that 4 of the 6 elevators weren't working and from that point it would still be another 20-30 minutes so we decided to save it for next time :) We went and did CA Screamin' after that and then decided to head home

It was a great day at Disneyland <3

PUPPY!

about a month ago we adopted a puppy. his name is Rocco. please enjoy his adorableness now...

He is SO much fun, I can't even begin to describe how much I love having a puppy around the house. We adopted him from the Camarillo Animal Shelter. He has such a great personality and loves all people and dogs! He is about 7 or 8 months old :) Come over and meet him!!

mommy daughter trip

Basically the second I got off the phone with my recruiter (for the phone interview) I was anxious to hear back! The 3 to 4 weeks that she quoted seemed like an eternity!!!

Luckily, my mom was craving a trip to WDW so we hopped over to Orlando for the weekend :D

Because we were on a budget, we didn't go to any parks or anything but it was still so much fun! I love mommy-daughter trips <3

On our way from the airport to Disney property we saw some crazy, beautiful clouds!!

We stayed at the POP Century hotel (our favorite value hotel!) I seriously love the smell and feel of that place...always makes me feel like I'm at home :D

When we made the reservation, only preferred rooms were available so we asked to be put in a refurbished room -- and we were! The room was awesome and it was sooo nice to be in a brand new room!

The next day we did a resort tour. We parked at the Polynesian and then rode the monorail around to the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary. Since we usually go to the parks, we never really took the time to go check out all the other resorts so it was fun to go see what they were all about! After that we decided to head to DTD for some lunch. We drove over to POR (our favorite moderate resort!) so that we could take the ferry over to DTD instead of driving...we were cracking up over the music changes!! When you start at POR, the speakers on the boat are playing nice bayou music but as soon as you cross into the DTD area we heard Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA" hahaha

We had lunch at Earl of Sandwich (of course) and it was delicious (of course). We shared the caprese sandwich :)

This post is getting sort of long so I'm going to wrap it up :) The other things that we did on this short trip included laying at the pool, walking around DTD, sushi and drinks, watching Wishes from the Poly beach (which is amazing!!) and checking out the apartments for the DCP.

I'll end with a few more pictures :)
