the starbucks sunday that wasn't

I am exhausted.
Instead of a virtual coffee date with you, I have made a date with my couch.
See you on the flip side.

happiest season of all

There are only 2 months until Christmas!
This makes me very excited.
I have a lot of chores to do this morning before I head to work and you better believe I will be blaring the Pandora Christmas station while I do them :)
I'll also be dreaming about the Christmas crafts that I want to do. Like these...

once upon a time

Alex & Trey are back from the bachelor party and sounds like a fun time was had by all :)
{this is where I would insert pictures but, of course, I wasn't there}
After I got off work, I picked up Alex from soccer then parked it on the couch with my three favorite boys {Rocco included!} to log some quality TV time.
{there we are}
We started off with South Park, followed by a Halloween episode of Iron Chef America and then stumbled across Once Upon a Time.
The beginning was odd but definitely drew us in. It's a pretty involved plot but I will do my best to come up with a simple synopsis for you...
...the show starts off in present day Boston when a 10-year old boy named Henry finds his birth mother,Emma, on her 28th birthday. The specific birthday is significant because it is the age that Snow White & Prince Charming's daughter will be when she returns to them and ends the curse placed on the fairy-tale world by the Evil Queen {we learn about this curse from Rumplestiltskin}.Henry lives in Storybrooke, Maine with his adoptive mother {the evil queen}. The town is filled with fairy tale characters who no longer remember their past/identities because of the curse. But Henry knows the identities of his neighbors and is aware of their stories because of the book his teacher {Snow White} had given him. Henry tries to convince Emma that she is a part of their story and is the key to ending the curse but she is {understandably} skeptical. After returning Henry back home to his mother, Emma sees how unhappy the boy is {and how much of a bizo his adoptive mother is} and decides to stay in Storybrooke. This is when the episode ends...
If you are still with me...I suggest that you watch it for yourself! It was definitely enjoyable and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens next week!

starbucks sunday: work edition

I can't believe it's already Sunday! I hope you all had a great week.
Today marked the end of my first week of the new job. Without boring you with details I'll tell you that I really like it so far :)
If we met at Starbucks this morning you would have had to meet me really early {like 6AM} and I would have told you...

...that Hawaii is only 15 days away!!!
...how much fun I have had with Rocco the past couple of days {seriously, dogs are the best}
...that I finally booked a ukulele player for the ceremony
...that I really need to get my nails done

My Starbucks Sunday posts are always lacking in photos, so I'm going to leave you with a cute picture of Rocco hiding under my desk.

birthday boy

A long time ago {24 years} in a galaxy far, far away {Santa Barbara, California} a baby boy was born and they called him Alex{ander Sky Byrd}.
He was a cute baby.
And an even cuter toddler.
Who turned into an adorable little boy.
Then grew into a cool young man.
He matured into a handsome gentleman...
..who is smart, kind, funny, and has pretty sweet grooves. He likes beer, sports and other manly things. He also likes me. How lucky am I?
Happy Birthday Alex! I love you oso ;)

wedding wednesday: first look

Happy Wednesday friends!
My Wednesday is especially happy because it is actually my Friday {insert happy dance here}.
Even though I am constantly thinking about our wedding, which is almost here by the way, I find it kind of hard to come up with topics for "Wedding Wednesday".
This week my post is about the first look. You know, the first time the bride and groom see each other all dolled up for their special day. I think first looks are incredibly romantic and my heart gets all fluttery when I think about seeing Alex at the end of the aisle in just a few short weeks!
Some people do a private first look session with their photographer before the ceremony which I think is very sweet. I have seen so many beautiful photos from these kinds of shoots. Like these...

After thinking it through I decided that I would rather save our first look for the ceremony {eek! so exciting!}. Hopefully I wont be too teary eyed to see Alex's reaction haha. Here are some ceremony first look photos that I love...

Even though we wont see each other until the ceremony, I would love to take some photos like these...

working girl

I started my new job yesterday! All morning I felt like I was getting ready for the first day of school, it was pretty exciting. I even had Alex take my picture before I left.
Do I look like a good Front Office Manager?

bath time

I love a good bath.
Who doesn't, right? There is something so peaceful about stepping into a tub full of hot water and sinking so low that you grow a bubble beard. Add a good book to the mix and you've got a little slice of heaven on earth.
We just have a regular old bathtub in our apartment but it gets the job done. {this girl is easy to please!} Plus, since it's connected to the shower it makes it very easy for me to rinse off when it's time to return to the real world. {Am I the only one who HATES not taking a shower after a bath?}
Even thought I am satisfied with my current bathtub situation, the wonderful world of Pinterest has shown me some pretty enviable bathtubs and now I am going to share them with you...

A fireplace next to the bathtub? Can it get any better than that?

starbucks sunday

I can't believe it's Sunday already!
I had a pretty busy week full of work, TV tapings, Disneyland and DIY projects.
Tomorrow I start my new job and it feels like the first day of school {I love that feeling} hopefully I will be able to sleep tonight.
If you had joined me for coffee this morning...

I would have told you about my DIY projects that I was working on this morning {frames, tricycle, dresser, Rocco's dishes} and asked for color suggestions.

I would have told you how excited I am to not have to wear a uniform to work anymore after today {insert happy dance here}

I would have asked you if you have any yummy crockpot recipes to share with me {this still applies to those of you who are reading this and did not have coffee with me}

I imagine that we would people watch for awhile. {Who doesn't love a good people watching sesh?}

And because I hate to post without adding a picture...here is a picture of a very odd mug:

I am so very glad my coffee wasn't served in this.

wednesday

I missed out on Wedding Wednesday this week
BUT it was because I spent the day at Disneyland {yay}
It was an insanely warm October day. When we got to Anaheim it was 103 degrees!
Fall decorations were in full force {which I LOVE} and I had a great time with Addie, my mommy and uncle Tom.

ring dish

I find myself taking off my ring to shower, do the dishes, cook, etc. and for some reason I hate just putting it on the counter. And it is for that reason I'm in the market for a ring dish.
I've decided to get one from Etsy because {1} there are some crazy creative/talented people on Etsy whom I trust will make me a cute ring dish and {2} it will help me complete one of the items on my 101 in 1001 list!
Here are some that I am considering...
